ABSTRACT

Objective To identify the Para-Bombay blood group on the basis of its serological characteristics .Methods ABO blood typing , H antigen detection , absorption and elution test , and saliva neutralization test were conducted for serological identification of ABO blood group .PCR-SSP was used to sequence FUT1 and FUT2 genes. Results Results of ABO genotyping of eight individuals of the Para-Bombay blood group were consistent with results of their serological blood typing.Among these cases, there were 3 cases of Amh,4 cases of Bmh,and 1 case of Abmh. The results of their FUT1 genotyping were h1h1 in 3 cases, h2h2 in 2 cases and h1h2 in 3 cases. Conclusion The differentce of agglutination intensity between Ac and Bc in reverse ABO blood typing and abnormal Oc agglutination is of greet significance for Para -Bombay blood group.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relative risk factors of childhood asthma. Methods An investigation was carried out by random sampling in Wuhan city. The investigation included questionnaire and clinic examination. The studied atients were the infants and children aged from 0 to 14 years old,and the sample size was of 4132 cases. The relative analysis between childhood asthma and other allergic diseases was carried out,and high risk factors were screened by multiple Logistic regression analysis with SPSS 17.0 software. Results There were 173 children with asthma, and the accumulation incidence rate was 4.2%,during which the rate of male children were higher than that of female children (4.8% vs 3.6%).Four years old was a key point, because the incidence rates of allergic rhinitis, eczema, drug allergy and food allergy were obviously increased after this point. The relative analysis results showed that allergic rhinitis was the first factor related to asthma (r =0.30,P < 0.01),the second factor was eczema (r =0.24,P < 0.01).The multiple Logistic regression analysis results showed that the risk factors of asthma were listed by risk degree as allergic rhinitis (OR =5.61,95% CI:3.88-8.13),repeated respiratory infection (OR =3.99,95% CI:2.78-5.74),eczema (OR =3.38,95 % CI:2.35-4.87),drug allergy (OR =2.20,95 % CI:1.44-3.36),asthma history of the first degree relative (OR =3.14,95% CI:1.60-6.13) and asthma history of the second degree relative (OR =1.92,95% CI:1.13-3.28).Conclusions Allergic rhinitis and repeated respiratory infection are the first and the second important risk factors of asthma. It is necessary to enhance the health management of the related children to prevent them from developing asthma.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the physical characteristic of Chinese Mandarin Monosyllabic word phonemes by the time-frequency analysis.

METHODSManufactured and study the three-dimensional speech chart which was on the basic of information of the time-frequency analysis in 40 monosyllabic words with the SigmaPlot 9.0 and Matlab 7.0 software.

RESULTSThe mean value of basic frequency in 40 monosyllabic words was between 220 to 320 Hz area, and the mean value of four groups has significant difference by t-test. It is indicated by time-frequency analysis that the characteristics vary according to the tone of monosyllabic words. With the change of time, the various frequencies and its intensity of tone first remain basically unchanged, the curve is horizontal type; the different frequencies of tone second gradually tend to high-frequency direction, the graph is upward-type, additionally, the intensity of some tone drops little; the divers frequencies of tone third firstly deflect to low-frequency areas, then increasingly deviate to high-frequency direction of bias after maintaining a period of time, the figure is v-type, intensity changes are concave-shaped; The various frequencies of tone fourth deviate from high-frequency to low-frequency areas, and its intensity drops sharply, the graph is decreased type.

CONCLUSIONThrough time-frequency analysis and three-dimensional speech chart observation, we consider that the physical characteristic of Chinese Mandarin Monosyllabic word phonemes mainly reflects the frequencies and intensity change with time.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDAfter establishing a murine model of aminoglycoside antibiotic (AmAn) induced ototoxicity, the sensitivity of AmAn induced ototoxicity in three murine strains and the effect of kanamycin on the expression of Na-K-2Cl cotransporter-1 (NKCC1) in stria vascularis were investigated.

METHODSC57BL/6J, CBA/CaJ, NKCC1(+/-) mice (24 of each strain) were randomly divided into four experimental groups: A: kanamycin alone; B: kanamycin plus 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoate; C: 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoate alone; and D: control group. Mice were injected with kanamycin or/and 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoate twice daily for 14 days. Auditory brainstem response (ABR) was measured and morphology of cochlea delineated with succinate dehydrogenase staining. Expression of NKCC1 in stria vascularis was detected immunohistochemically.

RESULTSAll three strains in groups A and B developed significant ABR threshold shifts (P < 0.01), which were accompanied by outer hair cell loss. NKCC1 expression in stria vascularis was the weakest in group A (A cf D, P < 0.01) and the strongest in groups C and D (P < 0.05). CBA/CaJ mice had the highest sensitivity to AmAn.

CONCLUSIONSAdministration of kanamycin established AmAn induced ototoxicity. Kanamycin inhibited the expression of NKCC1 in stria vascularis. 2, 3-dihydroxybenzoate attenuated AmAn induced ototoxicity-possibly by enhancing the expression of NKCC1. Age related hearing loss did not show additional sensitivity to AmAn induced ototoxicity in murine model.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the expressions of transforming growth factor(TGF)-?1 and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in viral myocarditis(VM) and the intervention effect of valsarta on them. Methods Fifty-four male Balb/c mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group, treatment group and model group.Model group and treatment group established VM model by intraperitoned injecting 0.1 ml CVB3.They were killed on days 7,14 and 28,respectively.Histological cross sections of heart were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and myocardial histopathplogic scores were counted under optical microscope. The expressions of typeⅠand Ⅲ myocardial collagen,TGF-?1 and CTGF were examined by immunohistochemical method and analyzed by using SPSS 11.5 software. Results Compared with control group, histopathplogic scores, the expressions of type Ⅰand Ⅲ myocardial collagen,TGF-?1 and CTGF increased markedly in model group (Pa
